A'Ghlas bheinn

Not quite as quick and simple as I'd hoped

Parked at Dorusduain (not marked on recent maps!) and crossed the Abhain Chonaig via this handy bridge

On the path up Gleann Choinneachain - heading for the Bealach an Sgairne up there, then left up the ridge.

Bealach approaching

Looking back down Gleann Choimneachaim just before heading into the Bealach.

Even getting to the Bealach was longer than it looked at first

First view East over Loch a'Bheataich, with the shoulder of Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnain on the left, Mullach Froach choire in the middle, and Ciste Dubh on the right.  Still had all three to do at that time.

And some more of the same, as we start to climb out the Bealach over the many false summits before A'Ghlas bheinn.  Brilliant.

Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan looking impressive.  Maybe I can come back up here and do it this way?

Mullach Froach choire taunting me, as I failed to get to the top of it first time.

Another vista, this time with added Beainn Fhada on the right

More false summits or is that finally it?

West to Loch Duich

And looking South, back over the Bealach to Beinn Fhada.  Lovely.

To the North East I reckon we can see Mullach na Dheiragain running down from Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan, and behind that Carn Eige and Mam Sohhail perhaps?  And away at the back in the middle An Socach - tomorrow's target?

Summit cairn at last.  With Bheinn Fhada behind

Loch Duich seems a long way away

Wild mountain goat

Two wild mountain goats.

Descent rather steep

Back through the woods, once I worked out which track to take

Final view up Gleann Choinneachain.

And the car was still there.  A'Ghlas bheinn in the background.

And another view of A'Ghlas bheinn from the other side of Loch Duich

And a look at the Five Sisters from the same spot - now a lovely afternoon
