Ciste Dhubh

What a cracking day, again.  If it was always like this it would be mobbed!

Going to be another cracking day, car park filling up quickly.

Our target on the left, and we decided we would just go over Am Bathach (in the middle) to make it more interesting - good call.  A'Chralaig behind Stuart's car also looked inviting, but for another day

Across the road we could see the South Glen Shiel Ridge - it seems to get into all the pictures, as it should.

Bit of a climb up the front of Am Bathach

More South Glen Shiel Ridge.

The route turned out be seem longer than it looked, over the top on the right, then the one to it's
left, then onto our hill behind that.  And in the distance, Ben Fhada.

Ciste Dhubh getting closer, and scarier.

Another look back along Am Bathach

The back of Aonach Meadhoin, and behind that Sgurr a'Bhealaich Dheirg, which we did yesterday

Ciste Dhubh still seems a long way off.  Sgurr non Ceathreamhnan on the right - why
does it keep appearing in my pics - need to do that one soon.

It looks much bigger in Stuart's photo - from the top of Am Bathach

Back to my picture, with Beinn Fhada on the left, then Ciste Dhubh (further away again) and behind it Sgurr non Ceathreamhnan.  Across the An Caorann Mor (remember a wet, refreshed walk into Camban?) lies Mullach Fraoch choire and in front A'Chralaig - I did them the next day.

Descent to Beleach a'Choinich, now we have to climb back up the other side!

The other side looking daunting

An interesting bit of rock in the Beleach.  Mullach Fraoch choire in the background

Further up the Bealach, looking back to Am Bathach in the middle and the top of A'Chralaig on the left

And looking to the West we have Sgurr an Fhuarail and Aonach Meadhoin, and to the right Sgurr a Bhealaich Dheirg.  Did I mention we climbed them yesterday?

Looking North down the Alt Cam ban to Beinn Fhada

And South West to the head of the Alt Cam ban, and yesterday's hills

And to round it off, looking South East down An Caorann Beag, our route back out.

Top still some way off, as we climbed out of the bealeach

Time for a rest - hard work all this walking and taking pictures.

Quick bite before the final assault.  Beinn Fhada still in the background,

That's Am Bathach that we came over on the left - nearly regained the height we were at

And the top is getting nearer

Impressive cliffs

And quite a track contouring round the side - Sgurr an Fhuarail and Aonach Meadhoin, and to the right Sgurr a Bhealaich Dheirg again.  The one at the very back is one of the South Glen Shiel Ridge hills

Feeling the heat

You can see some of the Five Sisters in this one

Almost all of yesterday's ridge - impressive stuff.

And still some cliffs to pass

Mullach Fraoch choire and A'Chralaig - my walk for tomorrow.

Up again

The top

On top of the hill - with Mullach Fraoch choire and A'Chralaig behind as before.

Sgurr nan Ceathreambhnan then right to An Socach (I hope to do them soon) and the end of Mullach Fraoch choire

And from the top looking to yesterday's ridge.  The business.

And today we have come over the left side ridge then up the centre.

Final descent on the Ciste Dhubh plateau before we dropped down to the Bealeach

Coming down the An Caorann Beag - much easier than going over the ridge.

And nearly home - what a great day.

 Back to #22  Dave's Redundancy Munro Tour 2012 - 25 munros in 28 days - I am fair chuffed.  Onto #24 and # 25
