A' Chralaig and Mullach Froach choire (nearly)

Absolutely fantastic views, and a great walk, merely hampered by a little snow on the ridge.  Finally got up Mullach Froach choire here

An early start from FA - had to scrape the car and the bedroom window (inside).

On the way up the road Sron a Choire Ghairbh and Meall na Teanga were looking resplendent.

First pic of the South Glen Shiel Ridge.  From the shoulder of  the A'Chralaig ridge.  Fantastic

First view of the top of A'Chralaig I think.

And back down to Loch Cluanie and across to part of the SGSR

Oh yes, this is what I came for.  SGSR in all it's glory, and on the right Sgurr an Fhuarail.

And I think that is Sgurr nan Conbhairean over there?

Definitely getting closer to the top - spot the cloud trying to come down

Sgurr nan Conbhairean and Sal Chaorainn - splendid

Looking back across Glen Shiel to the SGSR

Sal Chaorainn again

The top still a bit away

Sgurr nan Conbhairean from another angle - if only it has been like this when I was up there?

And again - it was resplendent

Must be getting close to the top by now?

Yaa - summit of A'Chralaig.

View of the next target (Stob Coire na Cralaig) on the way to Mullach Fraoch choire

Looking back to the summit, on my way

Ciste Dhubh - at one point I thought I might climb that today too!!!

Along the ridge to Stob Coire na Chalaig, with the second munro in the mist at the end of the next ridge

Oh look,  Sal Chaorainn and Sgurr nan Conbhairean again - just brilliant

Another look back to the summit of A'Chralaig

And a clear look at Mullach Fraoch choire at the end of the ridge

Sal Chaorainn and Sgurr nan Conbhairean yet again

Looking West to Ciste Dubh, Sgurr an Fhuarail and beyond.

After Stob Coire na Cralaig the ridge got a bit serious

Sal Chaorainn and Sgurr nan Conbhairean still to the East

Come a long way since the top of A'Chralaig

From the final climb up Mullach Froach choire - Sal Chaorainn and Sgurr nan Conbhairean on the left, A'Chralaig back at the start of the ridge, with Stob Coire na Cralaig on the right in front of the rest of the North Glen Shiel hills

Today's achievement.  Unfortunately the car is back there too!

Unforunately this was as far as I got, as the path went along a very steep side and disappeared under the snow at this point - too scary - and I headed back.  I did make it up Mullach Froach choire another day though.

The other three people behind me got to about the same bit and all turned back too.

Oh well, just have to come back another day

This is what I pay my money for.   Sgurr nan Conbhairean behind A Chralaig on the left, the South Glen Shiel Ridge at the back, with Sgurr an Fhurail and Ciste Dubh in front, and on the right Beinn Fhada and Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan

Ciste Dhubh looking most inviting

Sgurr an Fhuarail I think

Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan also looking tempting.

Back down to the An Caorann Mor, path every bit as good as I remember it.  Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan disappearing.

The mighty South Glen Shiel Ridge.

Stopped off on the way back to Fort Augustus to take a last look at Loch Cluanie and the SGSR

Much the same, with Sgurr nan Conbhairean appearing on the right

Just awesome - up Loch Garry to the Loch Quioch hills

The back of Meall na Teanga and Sron a Choire Ghairbh I think
