Beinn Sgritheall - a quick one for a Sunday afternoon

And the start of the best four days hillwalking weather in March since perhaps ever!

Bit of a late start, what with clocks going forward and the long drive up, but that's the hill.

Starting the steep climb up the face of Beinn Sgritheall.  Maybe I should have taken the easier ridge
 over there?  Too late now.

At least with a quick ascent the scenery improves quickly.  Looking across to Knoydart.

A gorgeous afternoon - shorts on from the start!

Got quite steep towards the top of this.

Could that be the top - fantastic.

Down the ridge towards Beinn Mhialairigh, which I presume is where that guy is headed.

Rough Bounds of Knoydart

Suddenly the hill developed two tops - just as well I had my map.

It was a pretty steep one.  Just come up from down there!

Only to find the cairn had fallen to bits - not good enough.

Man on top of hill.

Looking across to Barrisdale through the haze.

Rest of the ridge, round to the peak on the left, then the path descends rapidly to Arnisdale on the right.

Looking back up the slightly steep and ridgy path towards the top.

To the west were all the munros in the world, or so it seemed, but they have been "hazed" out here.

Another backward look to Sgritheall

And down there is Arnisdale, and the two mile walk back to the car.

Slightly dodgy scree path descended.

And back on the flat.  Arnisdale was looking lovely

And over there is Barrisdale, Lunnie Bheinn and Lahdar Bheinn in all there glory.

Even the walk back along the road was interesting (well as interesting as a walk along the road can be) with fine views of the hill.  Just over the three and a half hours round trip, so a good start to the week.

And on the way back over the Beleach Ratagan, a fine view of the Five Sisters of Kintail to round off the day

Back to #15-18   Dave's Redundancy Munro Tour 2012 - 25 munros in 28 days - I am fair chuffed.  Onto #20 to 22
