Gulvan

A hill made for bikes.  But a long way all the same.

Car parked at the Strontian junction, time to head off

First view of the start of the hill, but it is so much further.

At least we can see the South Top here.

Time to leave the bike, some 6km up the track.  Only another 4.5km to go.  Looking back down
 Glen Fionnlighe.

After a bit of an "unrelenting and uniformly steep" climb, looking back down the glen again.

And here are the South Top, and the summit itself off in the distance.

Trig point on the Southern Top, with the real summit behind.  Not as far as it looks!

Back down the Glen again.

To the west, Sgurr Thuilm and Sgurr nan Coireachan

And Ben Nevis and Aonach Mhor to the South East

Looking back along the ridge to the South Top

Finally, the summit cairn, and a view into the distance - is that it!
And here is the view to the South East, Ben Nevis on the right, and Aonach Mhor to her left.  Some more Grey Corries in there too, and off to the mid-left perhaps the Loch Trieg hills?
This is what I came for.

A better view of  Sgurr Thuilm from the summit, with the cloud beginning to roll up the glens

To the south, nothing really very interesting, but a good view all the same.
Or maybe that was the North?

Oh the futility, now I need to retrace my steps all the way back to the car, over that South Top.
Another view of the Ben, with Loch Eil to the right.

Nevis looked much the same as I drove by it on my way home.
