Hills. The Munros are all done, so how about some Corbetts and cycling and distilleries?

Previously - 19 2016 - 26 2017 - 17 2018 - 16 2019 - 24, and 119 to go. Not a bad tally this year. Started the year with a wander up Beinn Mheadhonach on January 3rd - great to be out. On January 5th some of us attempted Ben Laoigh (Lui) in a quest for the source of the Tay, but beaten by the icy conditions at the top. Towards the end of January we headed up to FA to attempt Beinn Loinne but it was not to be, though I did manage Beinn Iaruinn. However we were back up in December with a bit more success on Beinn Loinne and Sgorr Na Diollaid In May I managed a day out to get up An Dun and A'Chaoirnich - steep but well worth it. At the start of June Sharon and I went up Beinn Resipol on a rather wet day. The following week I cycled most of the way up Stob an Aonaich Mhoir, hardly worth wearing hiking boots! Mid-June I got away overnight up Glen Etive to scale Beinn Mhic Chasgaig and Beinn Maol Chaluim. Good stuff. At the start of July I found time to go up Beinn Mholach, which was good. In August we had a trip to Mull to see the locals and get very wet up Dun da Ghaoithe. At the start of September I managed an overnight to do Corryhabbie Hill, Ben Rinnes, and Carn Mor. Not the most challenging of hills. And towards the end of the month I got a night away in Glen Lyons and did Meall nan Subh, Sron a'Choire Chnapanich and Meall Buidhe on the Sunday and Beinn Dearg and Cam Chreag on the Monday. Not the most inspiring of walks, but the last one had a decent top section. No activity in October, but the second weekend in November I was up Meall Taineachan and Farragon Hill which was lovely. And on the last Thursday I got out again, up Creach Bheinn which was great. In December we had a weekend in Fort Augustus, and Stuart and I did Sgorr na Diollaid on the Friday, and Kristan and I managed Beinn Loinne the next day, though we got soaked. And then on Hogmanay Shauna and Megan accompanied me up Creag Uchdag which was great. A good year. |

All the Corbetts I have done :- |
||||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| According to Mark's 1996 book there were 219 Corbetts, but I know Beinn a' Chlaidheimh was downgraded from a Munro in 2012 (after I had scaled it), and Sgurr nan Ceannaichean was downgraded in 2009 (one I still need to do). Wikipedia, Steven Fallon, Munro Magic and I therefore all agree 221 is the total number I have to do. | ||||
