The West Highland Way, May 2011

Day Three: Rowardennan to Inverarnan - 14 miles

Now this is what I call a good walk. This is what I paid my money for.

Off we go

By yon bonny banks

I took the low road, while the rest took the high road.  Low road was interesting.

Looking back down Loch Lomond.  Beautiful.

The path was certainly challenging.

The cobbler, and to it's right Ben Narnain

And again.

Ben Ime and Ben Vane  I think.

Definitely Ben Vorlich

Happy trampers.

Are these bluebells or harebells?

Some old goats, by the seashore.

Inversnaid, and lunch.  Martin getting set for the afternoon.

Off we all go again.  And some more hills. (Ben Vane?)

Stewart and Martin contemplate the sprachle to see the cave.

Rob Roy wasn't home

The Aussie coming up to inspect said cave

The guy with the Aussie!

The path was a bit up and down.

Ben Oss and Ben Dubhcraig looking impressive at the head of the loch.  Tomorrow we will walk past them, on the other side.

More goats.

Tim scaring the goats

This is my favourite spot so far.  Ideal for chilling and snoozing.

Time for a dram, it helps the chilling.

Just idyllic

Time to head off again.  58 miles to go.

Coming down to the bothy at  Doune, just before the rain came down again.

Climbing up from the Loch, into the great unknown.

I Vow Island in the middle of the loch

Nearing the top of Cnap Mor, today's highest point.

Looking back to where we have been today

And where we are going now.

A pub, how convenient.  First pint of the late afternoon (or was it the second!)

Bring on the dancing girls (not pictured).
