Day Four: Inverarnan to Tyndrum - 13 miles

Another day of fun and mixed weather

No pub for lunch!  Just as well there is a milk bar, even if it has no pies.  And Duncan joined us, to increase the bright jacket count.

Leaving Inverarnan.  Not the most promising start to the day.

Slightly clearer?

A pretty river

At least the rain was off now.

Climbing out of the glen alongside the River Falloch

And onto the old military road built by General Wade or his successor Major Caulfield.

Splendid views

Some hills

The climb away from Crianlarich

There should be a deer in there somewhere!

Under the arches.

River Fillan

To the milk bar

Coffee time. Catherine, Stewart, Dad, Martin, Iain and Duncan at rest.

Strolling along side the River Coronish to Dalrigh (the King's Field).  Legend has it that in 1306 Robert the Bruce suffered a defeat here by the MacDougalls of Lorne.

Allegedly the sword of Robert the Bruce is in that Lochan?  The man himself retreated to the Kintyre Peninsula and spent some time in Dunaverty Castle.

Beinn Dubhcraig?

The old lead smelting area.  Interesting stuff.  No really.
