Fisherfield Six - 18 miles and 2300m of ascent - brilliant.

What a great bit of the world, happy to go back.

First view of An Teallach, which I walked past, and will return to do soon I hope.

Busy car park at Corrie Hallie, so I was expecting a few people at the bothy.

View of An Teallach from the path up from Corrie Hallie

Said path, climbing up to the right.

And from the top looking back

And first view of the Fisherfield six, at least Beinn a'Chlaidheimhr straight ahead with Sgurr Ban behind.

Further down the path, a better view of Beinn a'Chlaidheimh on the left, with Sgurr Ban or Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair poking out behind.  And Ruadh Stac Mor in the middle - 3 of the six

Some other travellers, descending into Strath Sealga

Coming down to Shenavall bothy - Beinn a'Chlaidheimh on the left with A'Mhaighdean and Ruadh Stac Mor.

First sight of home - Shenavall bothy.  Midgies not pictured!!

Again the midgies don't appear in the photo, but they were there.  Busy place on a Saturday night, about 20 people around, though some camped out.

Is this not the business?  Looking up Gleann na Muice from the bothy as the sun disappears for the night.  And what a night, guitar players, weegies looking at shooting stars, and me trying to sleep!

The next morning it still looked brilliant though - 7:30 and off I set.

Just perfect?  First hill in front.

And looking down the Glen, with Beinn Dearg Mor (just a Corbett) .

Just past Achneigie, I think I came round too far.

Beinn a'Chlaidheimh from the back, with Sgurr Ban (second target) in the background..  Decided to head up the little corrie at the other end of the hill, which was probably wrong as I think you can get up the near edge - but it was a nice walk.

Well it was nice until I ended up sprachling up the scree.  Probably easier the other way!

Nearly at the top, I think that is the 815m top over there, and behind Sgurr Dubh, a top of Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair (target #3)

And from the top, looking across to An Teallach's pinnacles and Berkleys Seat.

180° view from the top, with An Tellach on the right, and Ruadh Stac Mor left of centre.  Splendid.  And only 2.5 hours so far.

Looking South down the ridge, and over to the next summit on the left, and the fifth summit on the middle right.

And down to Bleann na Muice.  Path back from Ruadh Stac Mor almost visible below Loch Beinn Dearg

Back along the ridge to the summit, if the one I am on now isn't!  Did both just in case.

Heading off Beinn a'Chlaidheimh, to skirt left round Loch a Bhriadh then up Sgurr Ban.  Beinn Tarsuinn hidden behind, and to the right is A'Mhaighdean (#5), and the escape route back down Gleann na Muice if it all gets too much.

From bealach at Loch a'Bhriadh looking back up Beinn a'Chlaidheimh.  Glad I don't have to go up that.  Must be tough if you are doing this anti-clockwise!

Sgurr Ban from the beleach

Part way up, looking back to Beinn a'Chlaidheimh and An Tealleach behind.
The top of Sgurr Ban, with Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair behind.

3.5 hours gone

Another look back over the stony top to Beinn a'Chlaidheimh

And now we can see the shoulder of Beinn Tarsuinn, with A'Bhaighdean in the middle and Ruadh Stac Mor on the right.

Off the summit plateau we get a better look at Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair ahead, with Beinn Tarsuinn behind.

Path up Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair didn't lend itself to photography, but here is the view from the top looking back to Sgurr Ban, An Teallach still in the background - 4.5 hours gone

Beinn Tarsuinn (#4) to the left of the summit of Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair.  To the right A'Mhaighdean (#5) and Ruadh Stac Mor(#6) right next to it, then Ruadh Stac Beag and Beinn Dearg Mor, and not pictured on the right at the end of Gleann na Muice lies Shenavall

Slioch rising up behind with the cliffs of Beinn Tarsuinn on the right.

Side of Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair, looking down Gleann na Muice.  On the left are A'Mhaighdean (#5) and Ruadh Stac Mor(#6) right next to it, then Ruadh Stac Beag and Beinn Dearg Mor.  All that to go.

Another view of Slioch behind Beinn Tarsuinn, on the desecent.

From the beleach below Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair it looked a long way up Beinn Tarsuinn, and a lot further up A'Mheaighdean in the middle, and Ruadh Stac Mor on the right.

Looking back up Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair

Nearing the top of Beinn Tarsuinn, looking over the shoulder to Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair on the right, then behind that Sgurr Ban, Beinn a'Chlaidheihm and in the background An Teallach.

Top of Beinn Tarsuinn (#4).  5.5 hours seems a good enough time to keep going.  Same hills as above on the right, and Ruach Stac Mor's peak visible on the left.  Shenavall is right down at the other end of the Glen

Summit

Another 180° with all the above plus A'Mhaighdean to the left of Ruadh Stac Mor (where else!) and a glimpse of Lochan Fada over the Tarsuinn ridge beyond the flat bit on the left

Lochan Fada and the flat bit

South to Slioch behind Lochan Fada, with Loch Garbhaig behind, and some cliffs (Letterewe?) on the right.  And the flat bit!

Edge of the flat bit

More of the flat bit, and Beinn Tarsuinn behind

Not sure I could find the path up there, but coming down wasn't too bad.

Next stop, A'Mhaighdean - looks a long way, let me tell you.  Then Ruach Stac Mor on the right, which brings its own scree slope issues!

An Teallach - a fair way away!

The long climb up A'Mhaighdean ahead - further than it looks!  To the right Ruadh Stac Mor looking more and more impenetrable from this side.

And looking the other way, back to Beinn Tarsuinn and to it's left Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair, Sgurr Ban and furthest away Beinn a'Chlaidheimh.  Come quite a long way already!

On the left Ruadh Stac Mor, on the right Slioch, another 180° from the slopes of A'Mhaighdean.  Oh and that will be Beinn Eighe in the distance on the far right

Ruadh Stac Mor, with An Teallach behind on the left, and Beinn a'Chlaidheimh on the right.

Gorm Loch Mor with Beinn Tharsuinn Chaol beind, and more cliffs behind that, on the other side of Allt Gleann Tulacha.

Dubh Loch at the front, and Fionn Loch beyond, from the top of A'Mhaighdean. (#5).  7.5 hours gone.

Same old hills, from the top.  Still not a bad days walk (apart from An Teallach which remains for another day)

And next I have to go up there!  Not quite as bad as it looks.

Overlooking Fuar Loch Mor, fine spot for a rest.

Fuar Loch Mor and A'Mhaighdean from the top of the scree on Ruadh Stac Mor

#6 - 8.5 hours and getting tired

Another shot of the Fisherfield 4 with An Teallach on the left behind Beinn Dearg Mor, from Ruadh Stac Mor

An Teallach behind Beinn Dearg Mor.  Shenavall is on the other side of the far away river behind the little hillock to the right.  Time to get hiking

Beinn a'Chlaidheimh (first one this morning) from the foot of Gleann na Muice Beag

Looking up Gleann na Muice from the foot of Gleann na Muice Beag - Beinn a'Chlaidheimh on the left, then Sgurr Ban, Mullach Coire Mhic Fhearchair and at the far end Beinn Tarsuinn

And looking the other way, Shenavall is nestling there at the foot of An Teallach.  Across the rather boggy bog, even in this dry weather.

And back at Shenavall, after 11 hours which is pretty good.  The left is Gleann na Sealga, and straight ahead is Glenn na Muice with Beinn Tarsuinn in the distance and Ruadh Stac Mor on the right.   Beinn a'Chlaidheimh is hiding behind that lovely rowan.

Almost the same picture an hour later, tranquil and beautiful, even without the small dram I had partaken off at this point.  And no-one else (yet) around.  Heaven.

Nightfall !

A bit quieter than last night, only another four came in after this, no guitars or drunken Glaswegians (except me!)

By night...

...and by day

By this point I had more or less decided not to attempt An Teallach - good call!

Final look up Gleann na Muice over on the left, and An Teallach on the right - home was the right decision!

Struck me as an odd sign but apparently a real problem for the estate.  Did those guys with guitars have fishing rods.  Certainly didn't catch any fish.  And that cloud behind is An Teallach.

What a great couple of nights, and one big day.  Would definitely head back here as long as the weather was as good as that.  Fantastic.
