Sgurr na Ciche, or the Pap of Glencoe

As we were camping at the Red Squirrel, it seemed rude not to ascend the Pap.  Sharon and Laurie declined to join us.

First sighting of the hill as we walked down from the campsite

Just as we started to climb the view opened up.  Think that will be Ardnamurachan.

Such a good view

Path was pretty steep in places.  Bidean Nam Bain in the background

As it turns out I was to climb the hill on the right (Meall Mhor) the next Friday.  It was a pretty hard slog up too.

This was after it got less steep!

Seem to have a lot of this view!

And this one.  You can just see the peak of Sgurr a Choise peaking up behind Meall Mor.  Did that one next Friday too.

Same picture, but from the top this time.  Very impressive, and a cracking day.

A very sweaty man!

Could see Kinlochleven, with Mam na Gualainn and Beinn na Callich on the left, Garbh Bheinn in the middle, and the Blackwater Reservoir just visible behind that.  Cracking

The Mamores.  Not going to reference/link as there are too many.

Yes, quite a view

Beinn a Bheithir on the left.  Long time since I was up there.

Looking back to Wilie and the top.

Starting the descent, had to go round the top to avoid cliffs

But a great wee hill apart from the brutal ascent bit

Just time for one more shot of this before we got down.

Made it.
