Fannich Forest Munros - Three glorious days away

DAY TWO
                                 Day One       Day Three

Heading back to the road today, leaving my little tent behind.

A bridge seemed like a good idea after yesterday's challenges with the river.

Early sighting of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich

An Coileachan and Meall Gorm

Looking East from the shoulder of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, with Meall Gorm and An Coileachan on the right above Loch Odhar and Loch Gorm. Already come from the head of Loch Glascarnoch down there on the left.

Hills to the North, still to be explored.

Top of Creag Dhubh Fannaich.  From right to left we have Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, then the long ridge running to Meal Gorm, and in the cloud on the left is my final hill for the day, An Coileachan

Sgurr Mor, with Sgurr nan Clach Geala (from yesterday) behind.

Top of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich getting closer, and Sgurr Mor getting bigger.

First munro of the day, with Meall a'Chrasgaidh behind

Sgurr Mor from the top of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich

Meall Gorm, and An Coicheachan still looking a long way off.

A fleeting view of Loch Maree

Sgurr Mor, Meall a'Chrasgaidh, and A'Chailleach, with An Teallach still in the clouds in the distance

Stone shelter between Beinn Liath Mhor Fannich and Sgurr Mor

Before the final pull to Sgurr Mor, looking down to Loch an Fhuar Thuill Mhoir, and Meall Gorm behind.

View South West from shoulder of Sgurr Mor, showing Sgurr nan Clach Geala and Sgurr nan Each that I did yesterday, and Sgurr a'Chadha Dheirg at the end of the ridge.

And looking South East down the ridge to Meall Gorm.  Mmm quite a long way still to go to it!

Top of Sgurr Mor

From the top, Beinn Liath Mhor Fannich on the left.  Meall Gorm on the right, and I still have a long way to go.

En route for Meall Gorm, looking back to Sgurr Mor and Beinn Liath Mhor Fannich

An impressive hill indeed.

Nearing the top of Meall Gorm, looking back to Beinn Liath Mor Fannich on the right, Sgurr Mor, Sgurr nan Clach Geala, Sgurr Breac and Sgurr nan Each.  Brilliant.

Loch U, and the long way back to the car

Another look back to Sgurr Mor

Same hills, from the top of Meall Gorm at last.  Still brilliant.

Or is that the top of Meall Gorm, with An Coileachan behind.

All the usual suspects, with Meall Gorm in front

Loch Fannich from An Coileachan (nearly).

An Coileachan at last, seven hours later.

The full monty from An Coileachan looking back up the ridge.

Looking South East to the end of Loch Fannich.  Impressive summit.

So just nip back to the car now, only another five miles to go.

A sign of hope as I descended towards Loch Gorm

Just done all that across the skyline - no wonder I was a little tired, and deserved a pint!

Those mountains to the North, yet to be explored.
