Beinn a' Bhuiridh

Hill of the Roaring of Stags
Decided to catch a corbett on the way down to my folks one Saturday in early December - and this one fitted the bill.  Great hill.

View of the hill from afar - Beinn a' Bhuiridh on the left, and Stob Diamh (Cruachan range) on the right.

The road in - not too messed up by the hydroelectric works.

Well mostly not messed up.

And rounding the corner we got a view of Stob Diamh

And then Beinn a'Bhuiridh (on the left)

Route straight up Coire Glas then turn left at the beleach.

On the way up, looking back to Beinn Mhic-Mhonaidh on the left, then I think Stob Ghabhar at the back.  Hill in the middle is Beinn Donachain (a Graham), and to the right I think we can see
Beinn Dorain in the distance, and nearer are more hills!

Getting closer - final pull up to the beleach - this bit was pretty steep.

From the beleach - Ben Lui looking glorious on the right, and behind that could be Beinn Chabhair.  Then heading to the left are lots of other hills.  On the left is Beinn Eunaich.  Brilliant.

To the west, Ben Cruachan

After a bit of a scramble, the top, and views down Loch Awe

Another view of the Ben Cruachan/Stob Daimh horseshoe from the summit - a good walk.

East - all the same hills mentioned above.

South.  Beautiful.

It was not as dark as this makes it seem.

Looking back down to the beleach

And down the ridge, though I missed the trig point!  What a cracking day.

Loch Awe, with Loch Fyne in the distance.

Looking back to the top, with Cruachan on the right.

Even better, the impressive Stob Diamh sitting to the right of Beinn a'Bhuiridh

Sun catching Glen Strae, with the Strach of Orchy on the right under Ben Lui.  Very pretty.

Strach of Orchy under Ben Lui.  Behind that on the right is Beinn Chabhair or An Casteil

And a final view of Beinn a' Bhuiridh on the left, and Stob Diamh.  Good walk.
