Beinn Mhic Mhonaidh - Hill of the Son of the Moor
Decent forecast, let's hit the hills
Forecast proved not to be quite as decent - as this other bloke commented when I passed him. Had already given up on the bike after the first couple of miles or so, but could have got further. |
![]() Bit of a view of the hill, though "clear and sunny" not proving quite right |
The steep bit at last |
![]() Looking back to the woods, and Beinn Udlaih on the other side of the glen |
Think that is Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh over there, or could be Ben Lui. Go away clouds |
Southern end of the hill, with the cliffs I avoided - how sensible! |
![]() Yep, Ben Lui on the left, and Loch Awe away on the right. |
![]() |
Nearing the top - Cruachan hills I think? |
Loch Awe |
![]() Summit of Beinn Mhic Mhonaidh, and the clouds had lifted. This is north west to Ben Starav and the Glen Etive/Glen Coe massif (maybe). |
North east to Beinn Dorain and Beinn an Dothaidh I reckon. And other fine hills. |
Ben Lui refused to come out of the clouds. |
Great walk all the same, and the bike meant the return was very quick too. |
