Stob a'Choin, my second attempt - 2018.
The drive in - looking a bit snowier that I thought (2016) |
![]() Same walk up the track in 2018 past Invberlochlarig farm as the first time, if a bit warmer! But this time I am heading up onto the top of the ridge on the right, and back down the way I tried this last time. |
![]() From halfway up the steep and possible dodgy route I chose. Nice view of Beinn Tulaichean and Cruach Ardrain, with Stob Binnien on the right. Glorious day. |
![]() And now the top is just over there - wasn't that easy! Might be Ben Lomond on the right? |
![]()
From the top, looking down to Inverlochlairg and Loch Voil. |
Beinn a' Chroin and An Caisteal |
And more hills way over there. |
Clouds coming down. |
That's better. Looking back to the summit from the other side of Bealach Coire an Laoigh. |
![]() Ah, that's much better. Summit I have just done to the left, Beinn a' Chroin behind, in the middle Beinn Tulaichean and Cruach Ardrain, and Stob Binnien to the right. Ben More is in there somewhere! |
![]() Which was about as far as I got the first time. Glad I didn't press on then! |
![]() |
Took a look South when I was here the first time - Loch Katrine I think, and Ben Lomond. |
![]() Before descending, last good view of Tulaichean. |
How different a bit of the white stuff makes it look. |
![]() Looking back towards the summit, from the descent. |
![]() Coincidentally a similar picture in the snow. |
Still a good bit to go down |
![]() |
![]() |
![]() And the walk back out - done it. |
Eerie how many of the same views I took both times! |
![]() And now the walk back out. Great day. |
