Ben Lomond - First and Second Rounds

What a long climb up this was the first time when I did it alone.
 Second time out (those pictures with more people and snow), Heather, Bill, James, Kitty, Sandra and Alistair accompanied me.

All ready for the challenge ahead.

The day started out really warm, if only it would stay that way!  I hadn't told them the summit was in the cloud on the left!

Time for a bit of a view.

I am sure it wasn't as dark at this, first or second time round!

At last, a look up the loch.  Unfortunately the cloud obscured a lot, but you can see Ben Vorlich to the right, above the power station at Inveruglas.

And to the North East - Loch Katrine I think?

East to Stirling (in theory).


Pressing on as the weather took a turn for the worse (for a while).

But when the weather cleared it was great.

That's better.  From the Ptarmigan ridge.  Beinn Narnain just left of centre, then Ben Vane, Loch Sloy, and Ben Vorlich above the white Power Station building.

Back to the top in 2015 - stunning views across the Loch.  On the left is the head of Loch Long, with the Cobbler to it's right, then Beinn Narnain, Beinn Ime at the back, round to Ben Vane, and then over Loch Sloy to  Ben Vorlich .  Impressive or what?

Well done everyone.  Can anyone spot a dog's lead in this picture?
