Spidean a'Choire Leith - a great hill
I was beginning to doubt if there was a way up, though seeing two guys in front gave me some comfort. |
![]() The back of Beinn Liath Mhor round to Sgorr Ruadh |
![]() Impressive cliffs, still not found the path on the left, but there is one to the right of that cleft |
Well a path of sorts. A good wee scrambly bit. |
![]() Now this is good. Spidean a'Choire Leith is the furthest away one, and the route goes over the other two (of course). |
![]() So now just a gentle stroll along the ridge. |
![]() And looking back
over the ridge so far, with Beinn Eighe now impressive behind.
![]() And from the top - looking at the Liathach ridge in all its glory, with Mullach an Rathain at the far end. Given what I had just done I decided heading back, and having tea and a bath was the sensible option, rather than risk the exposed ridge, which is supposedly quite airy and exhilarating! |
![]() Summit cairn, with
Beinn Eighe behind.
![]() So next the easy option, back along the ridge on the left, then descend to the right. What could be easier? |
![]() Another look at the ridge, as the other two decided to give it a go. |
To the right of Liathach you could just make out Beinn Alligin, another fine walk. |
![]() And another view of
Beinn Eighe - this is a smashing part of the hillwalkers world.
![]() But back to the route in hand - this was steeper than it looked, but I think it was safe enough? |
![]() And once off the ridge I stopped for one last picture of this Torridon beauty. Maybe next time I will do the ridge too? |
And then it was back down the hill, the long drive back home, and that bath. Great to be out on the hills again though, bring on some more. |
