Meall Ghaordaidh (the Hill of the Shoulder, apparently)

And the promised rain only fell a bit - a good day

Setting off

The first hurdle (or style!)

Ubiquitous stop to change clothes

The day didn't hold much promise!

........but there was still hope!

Going up.  After a mile or so up the Allt Dhuin  Croisg as it's known we turned left up the first shoulder.

First (and only) sight of the distant hill.  Bog not clearly seen.

Customary stop for clothing change.  Looking back down Glen Lochay towards Killin.

Clouds rolling up the valley.  That isn't our challenge, just the small ridge of Creag Laoghain.

The hill is around somewhere?

On through the mist.

Loch Lyon dam and power station

All right, a view of Stochd an Lochain to the left and Garbh Mheall straight ahead.

Back down the shoulder we scaled, toward Creag Laoghain.

The top.

The lunch.

Thanks for the pictures Stuart.  Must do it again?

The descent.

Big hills to the South - could be Ben More?

And to the West up Glen Lyon to some other big hills.  There are so many of them.  Beinn Heasgarnich perhaps?

Another munro taken.
