Sgurr a Mhuilinn (Peak of the Hill) and

Meallan nan Uan (Little rounded Hill of the Lamb)

Great day, but forgot lunch and a lighter so only managed to stay for one night!

With a reasonable forecast and a couple of days off work I headed back to Strathconon to get the Corbetts I gave up on last time, and I had hoped to do a couple of Fiona's but that was not to be (no lighter).  Managed to find a campsite before the end of the road this time.

View from the river.  Tent in the dip.  Midgies not pictured.  I think that's one of my hills peaking out the back.

Roadside, so I can remember where I pitched the tent, for the next time.

Next day I headed back up the road a bit, and onto the hill.

After my failed attempt last year I opted for an anticlockwise approach this time, not that it makes much difference!

The start is still steep.  Think that was the last hills I did down here in the distance.

Here we go - Sgurr a Mhuilinn on the right, Meallan nan Uan on the left, and the extras (Sgurr a Chonnich-rainich and Sgurr a'Ghlas way off in the distance.  They were just for fun.

Looking up Stratthconon to civilisation.

Across the glen to Meallan nan Uan and the ridge down to Creag Ruadh that I will do last.

Looking back down the path (once I found it) to Strathconon

Top of the first hill.  There were several other high bits but I think this was the one, as it had a bit of a cairn.

Meallan nan Uan looks small from here.  Actually it wasn't too bad.

Strathconon and the West - Wyvis?

Then I headed North West - this is looking back to the top, before the drop down, just to confirm that was the highest point.

So as a walker rather than a bagger I decided to include Sgurr a Chonnich-rainich and Sgurr a'Ghlas just for fun.  Did briefly re-consider, but they weren't that far really.

Lo and behold, the top of Sgurr a'Choire-rainich already.  Over there is Sgurr a'Mhulinn on the left and Meallan nan Uan just to the right.

Looking to Sgurr a 'Ghlas Leathaid, with many Torridon peaks to the far right.  Now they are cracking hills.  Auchnasheen at the head of the loch on the right

And the top of Sgurr a 'Ghlas Leathaid, also looking north west.  Liathach and all the others.

And to the south east - Sgurr a'Mhuillinn and Meallan nan Uan.  Now I see why the other route combined those two.

Back to towards Sgorr a'Choire-rainich.  I think that means the Peak of the Corrie of Ferns?

And heading back to Meallan Nan Uan, across the peat bog.

The deer on the horizon looked more impressive in person!

Nearly there.

Made it.  Top of Meallan nan Uan.  Time to take it all in.

Looking back to where I have just been, with so much in the background.

And over there is Sgurr a'Mhuilinn that I did earlier, with the two outliers on the left.  Nice circuit.

The south side was a bit steep.

Heading down, looking back at three of the four hills just done.

Getting a bit darker!

East along Strathconon to my previous hills up here, off in the distance somewhere, from the top of Creag Ruadh.

And a final look south west up Strathconon to campsites and previous hills.
