Stob a' Bhealach an Sgriodian
(Peak of the
Pass of the Screes)
Seem to have recorded tomorrow's walk here too. Day one just the first 9 miles and 3875 feet of ascent. Second two tops are tomorrow. |
First a nice cycle in, not mostly on tarmac road of course. |
There was some uphill on the two mile cycle in. Looking North to Streap on the left, and Braigh nan Uamhachan on the right (I think). |
Campsite in the bog. Terrible midgies but great view. |
Heading off up the track for hill one. |
First view of what turned out not to be the top of the hill. |
Nice glen, with the Alt na Cruaiche running through it |
Over there's the hill, though the top isn't yet in sight |
Was a bit hazy, but this is the down and up, to cross the Cona River |
Looking back to what I have had to come down (and need to go back up on the way home). |
Gaining height on the Stob, again looking back to where I have come from. Tomorrow's Sgurr Craobh a' Chaorainn on the left. Another long walk. |
Getting closer to the elusive top |
That is it. Well worth the effort! |
![]() Another look at tomorrow's hills and the track back in the middle. Cona Glen now a little more visible. |
![]() And back to Cona Glen |
Managed to keep my feet dry. Then the climb out and back to the tent. |
And relax - apart from the bog and midgies. |
