Beinn an Lochain

Hill of the Little Loch - a good wee West Coast hill.

A little walk on the way down to my Dad's as lockdown eased.

At the start, looking south to The Brack.  Hadn't realise it was nearly 6 years since I did that one.

And across the A83 we have Beinn Ime.  It's 22 years since I was up there.  Where did all the time go?

Starting up the first steep bit, looking down on Loch Restil, with The Brack and Ben Donich behind.

Beinn Ime again.

Atop the ridge, with a view down Kinglass to Loch Fyne.

More steep and rocky bits to come.  An interesting hill.

Looking up Glen Kinglas.  Meall an Fhudair probably not visible at the back on the left.  A wilderness to explore sometime.

More scrambly bits to come.  But what a day.  And only passed about 6 people so far.

View back down the ridge and up Glen Kinglas

More of the same, with added Bennein an Fhidhier on the left (still to do thta one), and Ben Ime to the right, behind Beinn Liubhean which we did in 2018, in the snow.

And more ascent.  What a great hill.  That's the top up there, honest.

Another look at Loch Fyne, Inverary just about visible.

Panorma, making the top look further away!  But what a day.

And to the South West, The Cobbler

Nearly there.  A few more people around now.

Summit, as apparently the southern top is 1m lower.

Looking north, Glen Kinglass on the left, coming round to Ben Ime, Beinn Liubhean, The Cobbler, and more.

From the southern top I could see the Ailsa Craig, though the picture seems to have lost it.  By this time I had come across over twenty people, so a popular hill.  It used to be a Munro until 1981.

Already named all these before, apart from Beinn Narnain, sticking up between Ben Ime and The Cobbler, and Ben Lomond in the distance. To the right a view down Glen Croe.

Looking back to the real top.  Managed to get ten minutes for lunch with no people - bliss.

And west to Loch Fyne, with Binnein an Fhidheir on the right, and Ben Cruachan way off in the distance.

Coming down, nice view of the Loch and The Brack.  Great hill, but a little busy.
