Glas Tulaichean and Carn an Righ

Long and icy, but you can't beat it.

Starting up Glen Lochsie

About 14 miles and two munros, all of a Winter's day.  No wonder I am feeling somewhat sore-legged!

Glad we paid the £2 for parking at the hotel and cut out the final mile and a half each way.

Looking back to Spittal of Glenshee

Following the dismantled railway up the glen

Then onto the highway up the hills - very icy!

The final plateau before the summit on the right.

The long and winding road, to the top.

More clothes, as the cloud clears the top.

Summit of Glas Tulaichean, more clothes.

Carn an Righ from Glas Tulaichean.

Lunch near the top of Gleann Mor, before the next up

Been up there.

And going up there next, Carn an Righ.

View up the glen, that path is the way out, then turn right at the end and drop down into Gleann Taitneach for the long walk home.

At the top of Carn an Righ - only another seven miles to go.

Back along the Gleann Mor, aiming to get as far down Gleann Taitneach as possible before dark.

The alternative route would be back over the shoulder of Glas Tulaichean, on the left.  As this was still about the same distance we opted to go round.

All down hill from here, thank goodness.

We were not alone.

Final look up to Glas Tulaichean in the light.

And in the twilight.
