Geal Charn, via the Markie Burn

Not really a halcyon day, but good none the less

Off we go, up Glen Markie in search of Geal Charn.

Rain, snow and rivers - and this was the path!

Day improving.  Our hill is up there on the left somewhere!

Jump!  Crossing the Markie Burn.

In between the showers it was alright too.  Starting to climb up the side of the Piper's Burn.

That's where we are headed.  Can hardly wait.  Maybe turning back was the right thing to do?

From near Lochan a'Choire, looking back down to the car wishfully.

Too late, here comes the snow.

Could that be the huge, finely built summit cairn?

Sadly not, but there it is up there.  Featureless grassy plateau's under snow are still featureless plateau's.

Horizontal snow marring my good photography!

Just the spot for lunch.  The top of Geal Charn, what a view.

Coming back down, searching for Markie and a crossing for the Markie Burn

Heading along the ridge

Markie Burn now visible down there.

Looking back to Geal Charn, still looking most featureless.

And down there lies the Spey Dam, and the car.

You can nearly see the top of the hill where we have just been, but not quite!

Across the Markie, just the yomp back to the car now.  Actually found a bridge about half a mile further up so feet dry.

And looking up Glen Markie to whatever else is there, must get a map.
