Uamh Bheag (Little Cave)
![]() These hills were not on the original Donald list, but are south of the Highland Boundary fault so technically Beinn nan Eun should be! That aside this is the approach to Am Beannan and Meall Clachan, the first Donald Top. |
![]() Great to be in the great outdoors - the whole place to myself. |
![]() Behind me the weather was not so good. |
![]() |
![]() By the time I got up the first steep climb the weather had improved - Ben Vorlich and Stuch a Chroin looking good. |
![]() Back down the river towards the car. |
![]() |
![]() Uamh Bheag still a bit off, but not too much up and down. There's always some! |
![]() Getting closer. |
![]() Then it's over there to the left for Beinn Odhar and Beinn nan Eun. |
![]() Top of Meall Clachach - not much to see. Mighty be Loch Venachar in the distance, though it looks too close. |
![]() Still no mistaking Ben Vorlich to the north. |
![]() Still to get up there. |
![]() Made it - summit of Uamh Bheag |
#Weather closing in again |
![]() Time to follow the fence |
![]() Trig point near the top of the East Top. |
![]() Time to stop for lunch and take in the views. |
![]() Untouched by human hand. Heading up and left. |
![]() The peat bog was pretty boggy and peaty, but thankfully quite dry |
![]() |
![]() Looking back to Uamh Bheag |
![]() Yep, more peat hags. |
![]() This is what I came to see - a stick and some stones on Beinn nan Eun |
![]() Oh, and Ben Vorlich |
![]() And more peat hags! |
![]() Last look at where I have been, as I head down back to the car etc.. Not the most thrilling walk, but nice to be out. |
