Dun Righ Horseshoe - The Manor Hills

Who said Grahams were easy!

Couldn't face a big drive, so headed down to Peebles for a big walk instead.  Seems longer and quicker than the book suggested, so I must be doing something wrong!

Misty and cold start, with no sign of my hills.
Glimpse of hills, but not the right ones.

So I have seen some hills, but this was the wrong track, as I had gone left instead of right, so it was back across the river and a steep wee pull back onto the right path.  That is probably Dun Rig way up there.

On the right track. but still a long way to go.  Up the Dead Side (nice name).

And behind me lies Pebbles, and the hills I am coming back down later.

Think I could see the Pentlands in the distance.

First achievement - Hundleshope Heights.  Not even a Donald

Lot of grouse moor up here, and a few grouse.  Heading up towards Glenrath Heights.

Took the recommended diversion to Stob Law, which is a Donald at least.  But not much going for it really.  Just a big down and up to get back to where I was!

And the top of Glenrath Heights, the second Donald of the trip.  Dun Rig over there, other side of the beleach (do you get beleach's down here?)

And then the top of Dun Rig (Dull Brown Ridge - a fitting name).  It's a real Graham as well as a Donald.

Then onto Birkscairn (or Kirkhope Law, they all look the same).  Been round all of that.

Time to head down.  Still a good five miles or something to go.

Looking back to where I have been.

Last cairn, Kailize Hill perhaps.

And looking the other way to where I have been.

Oh, one more cairn, at Craig Head.  I think I could have juked round this, but didn't want to miss a cairn!  Nearly back at Peebles.

Another "done all that" picture.

Flushed out some grouse, but didn't have a gun.

And a lovely blossom tree close to the end.
