Hart Fell and White Coomb

Nice walk, and a cycle back to the car to finish off.  Final sojourn to Borders Corbetts.

Very steep ascent up the slopes above the A708, close to the Hang Burn.  Not a pleasant bit.  Backhop Burn valley on the right.

From higher up the steep bit, looking across to White Hill

After the steep bit, along the flat towards Black Crag

Looking clearer to the north and White Coomb.

Rather steep drop - glad I didn't go up the valley then ascend!

Some excitement - a gate at the top of Swatte Fell I think, with Hart Fell behind.

View back to A708

The top of Hart Fell - another beautiful view!

Then it did clear a bit, so I could see North to Fruid Reservoir and things.

And the way forward, to Firthhope Rig and White Coomb.

Just follow the fence (until it gets too boggy!).  White Coomb is the highest one over there.

Heading over Saddle Crags.

Some goats, as I headed into Rotten Bottom.

Looking to White Coomb

Another valley running back to the road

Still to go up the left, done the bit on the right.

THAT IS IT!

The mighty cairn atop White Coomb

Descent towards the Tail Burn

Top of the Grey Mare's Waterfall

Bike is down there somewhere
And then a quick 2.5 miles cycle back to the car.  Borders Corbetts complete.
