Ben Vrackie, with company
Whisked away from Falkirk High, to the carpark at Moulin, ready for a winter stroll. |
![]() Pretty much worth
it already. What a lovely morning.
Mucking about. |
Before the day deteriorated a bit. |
After a fair trudge through the snow we rounded the corner of Meall na h-Aodainn More. I thought the girls would be put off by the sight of the Ben rising above Loch a'Choire dam, but luckily they couldn't really see what lay ahead. |
![]() What they would have seen on a clearer day |
Not sure which view was better? I decided on.... |
Loch a'Choire
Alice leading the attack up what may be the final ascent. It was snowy! Where did that dog come from? |
Chuffed to be at the top, enjoying the magnificent viewpoint. |
Rather snowy cairn with all the viewing information you could ask for. |
Here come another couple - do they have a dog? |
And the trig point, also at the top. |
![]() Is that a satisifed "I showed these Scottish people" face? |
After all that hardwork going up, it was time to get down. |
I allowed a lunch break after that. Tasted really good too - thanks Sharon. |
![]() Unusually the cloud didn't clear after we had come back down. |
More pictures - icicles this time (not pictured). |
And back down, nearly at the woods. But what a good day. |
