Ben Vrackie, with company

Dad, my friend and I fancy a wee walk in the hills.   Yaa Beauty!

Whisked away from Falkirk High, to the carpark at Moulin, ready for a winter stroll.

Pretty much worth it already.  What a lovely morning.

Mucking about.

Before the day deteriorated a bit.

After a fair trudge through the snow we rounded the corner of Meall na h-Aodainn More.  I thought the girls would be put off by the sight of the Ben rising above Loch a'Choire dam, but luckily they couldn't really see what lay ahead.

What they would have seen on a clearer day

Not sure which view was better?  I decided on....

Loch a'Choire

Alice leading the attack up what may be the final ascent.  It was snowy!  Where did that dog come from?

Chuffed to be at the top, enjoying the magnificent viewpoint.

Rather snowy cairn with all the viewing information you could ask for.

Here come another couple - do they have a dog?

And the trig point, also at the top.

Is that a satisifed "I showed these Scottish people" face?

After all that hardwork going up, it was time to get down.

Who's next?

Alice shows us how it's done.

I allowed a lunch break after that.  Tasted really good too - thanks Sharon.

Unusually the cloud didn't clear after we had come back down.

More pictures - icicles this time (not pictured).

And back down, nearly at the woods.  But what a good day.
