Ben More Walked, Dervaig checked out
| A Friday night enjoying the entertainment in the Kelvin Hotel in Oban set us up for the 9:30 ferry to Mull to meet Craig, and have a walk up Ben More | ||
Jackets off and off we go. Ben More taunting us in the distance - doesn't look too far? |

Jackets back on, as a refreshing shower sweeps in. |
![]() Are we nearly there yet? |
![]() By now we could just about make out Coll, out on the left. |
The top still shrouded in cloud. |

Below the clouds. Impressive. |
Making progress. Not the quietest hill I have ever been on, and probably the one with the most little girls! |

Starting to look a bit cloudier, but then thankfully it cleared. |
![]() The view. We could just make out Dervaig. On the right the Sound of Mull |
![]() The top, populated by very young girls! |
![]() Choice spot for lunch. Overlooking Loch Scridain, and in the distance Jura |
![]() That alternative route down again. Sadly we had to get back to Dervaig before the shop shut, so didn't head back this way. |
We managed to get rid of the small children so we could look manly at the top. |
And then we were back at the car! |
Turned out a beautiful afternoon. |
![]() Loch na Keal |
Dervaig Pub. No little girls here. |
| And then as you can imagine we celebrated our great achievement in the usual and fitting way. Great weekend, thanks to all concerned. | ||
