Carn nan Gabhar - Beinn A' Ghlo
Carn Liath was all that could be seen heading up the road |
First sort of decent view of Beinn A' Ghlo - got to go up Argiod Bheinn first, which itself is 1061 metres but not a munro |
Back down the track - did I really cycle up this? Not all four miles were as bad as this, though some was worse! |
And that is where I am going. |
Carn Liath from the other side? |
And Braigh Coire Chruinn bhalgain in the cloud |
Looking back - no wonder I am feeling pain |
The views make it all worthwhile |
As the wind howled and I clambered around trying to hold on, I hoped this was the top, but no, just the first cairn. |
Hat blown off, but fortunately recovered - surely the trig point is the top? |
No, it is out there somewhere |
Finally, summit of Carn nan Gabhar |
Under seven miles from the start, but felt much more, what with cyclying and pretty sheer ascendency and the wind trying desparately to remove me. |
So I wasn't alone - never saw them though |
Looking down Glas Leathad towards Glen Tilt |
And my route back down Alt Bealach an Fhiodha - much easier than the ascent route directly up Airgiod Bheinn |
Final view of the West end of Beinn A'Ghlo before I got back on my bike |
As ever the day improved as I got off the hill and back to the car. Oh well! |
